The NYT reported on the original name of the American negotiators in Russia
In Russia, the US representatives at the Geneva talks — President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the son—in-law of the American leader Jared Kushner - began to be called "Witkoff and Son-in-law." This was reported on February 17 by The New York Times (NYT).
"Recently, the Russians have been pleased with Kushner's participation due to his more organized and structured approach. Some Russians began calling the duo "Witkoff and Zyatkoff," the publication says.
It is noted that a similar nickname for Kushner has become established in Iran. There, Trump's son-in-law is called "Damad Trump," which literally indicates their family ties with the American leader.
