A foreigner who came to Russia as a tourist will not be able to change the purpose of the visit to work after entering. This was announced on February 18 by Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

"If you come as a tourist, then you should leave as a tourist. And if you're coming here to work, then you should immediately indicate your goal and apply for migration documents. Or leave on time as a tourist. It's not like you came here as a tourist and changed your mind. If you change your mind, go, think about it in your homeland and then come back again," the TASS deputy emphasized.

Nilov also noted that his initiative is currently under development.

On February 2, it was reported on the website of the Finnish Border Guard that four foreigners were detained at the border who were trying to illegally enter Russia through the Imatra region. According to the service, the detainees could be linked to criminal activities, including human trafficking and pimping, identified in Oulu.
