UAZ plans to expand its export geography

Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) plans to expand the list of export markets. The area of interest includes the countries of Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. This was reported to Izvestia on February 16 by the company's press service.

According to representatives of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, active work is currently underway in this direction.

"We hope that discussions on the formats of interaction with partners will yield results in the near future, and we will be able to return to you with specific plans," UAZ said.

Currently, the geography of the Ulyanovsk brand's presence, in addition to the CIS countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan), is represented by Mongolia, Egypt, Cuba and Honduras.

Earlier, on February 11, it was reported that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is conducting winter tests of a domestic diesel engine, which will appear on the UAZ Patriot, Pickup and Profi models. We are talking about a two-liter power unit with a capacity of 136 horsepower (hp), which is being produced in Yelabuga.
