French biathlete Fillon Maillet wins Olympic gold in the sprint

French biathlete Quentin Fillon Maillet became the Olympic champion in the 10 km sprint race at the Olympic Games on February 13.

The athlete covered the distance in 22 minutes 53.1 seconds, without making a single miss on two firing lines.

The silver medal was won by Norwegian Vetle Christiansen, who was 13.7 seconds behind and also shot cleanly. His compatriot Stella Legrade took the bronze (+15.9, without a miss).

For 33-year-old Maia, this is the fourth Olympic gold of his career and the second victory at the Milan 2026 Games, adds Sport-Express.

French biathlete Julie Simon became the Olympic champion in the individual race at the 2026 Games on February 11. Simon covered the distance of 15 km in 41 minutes and 15.6 seconds, making one miss on four firing ranges.
