On February 12, a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the National Film Award "Heroes of a Big Country", which was held with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, took place at the Rossiya National Center in Moscow.

Before the award ceremony, a two-day forum "Heroes of a big Country" was traditionally held. Its central theme is the image of the hero. In particular, the discussions of the semantic center "Heroes and Cinematic Universes 2030" and the foresight session "The value matrix of the hero of cinema 2030" were devoted to her. Actor Viktor Khorinyak believes that this is one of the most important topics not only in cinema, but also in everyone's life.

"We are constantly trying to figure out who he is — the hero of our time, who we want to look up to, who we want to be like, who we want to enjoy with our children. This question is always lively and very subjective. For everyone, the hero will be his own. Therefore, it is more correct not to "find the only answer", but to ask this question all the time and look for your own," Khorinyak noted.

This year, over 500 applications were submitted for the film award. The shortlist includes 55 projects. The artistic and documentary projects, TV series and animated works presented this year for the Heroes of a Big Country film award were evaluated by an expert jury led by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District, Artyom Zhoga.

Actor Vladimir Steklov shared his impressions of his work as a member of the jury. He noted that this is a very difficult, but also an exciting experience.

"The volume alone does not allow us to treat the viewing superficially, and to analyze everything scrupulously is really a lot of work. Some projects have left a very strong impression on me and on other people. And here the word "evaluate" does not fit: I either enjoyed watching it, or, let's just say, I remained an attentive viewer," said Steklov.

"The Film Award sets the highest bar for evaluating projects of modern Russian cinema. Not many projects work with values consciously rather than intuitively. Our mission is to launch a dialogue about the content and quality of the art form, about the impact of content on the viewer and on the development of the country. And it's not just the winners who need the prize.: It is necessary for the entire industry as a tool for optical reconciliation and an incentive for growth," said Mikhail Churbanov, general producer of the film Award, commenting on the results.
