Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway has officially apologized to the king and Queen of the country for her ties with Jeffrey Epstein, the infamous financier. This was announced on February 6 by the NRK broadcasting company.

"I would like to express my deep regret over my friendship with Jeffrey Epstein," she said.

In a message released by the Royal Palace, she expressed regret for the situation she had put the royal family in, especially the king and Queen.

On the same day, it became known that the Norwegian police began checking former Prime Minister Thorbjorn Jagland in the Epstein case. No specific charges have been filed against Jagland yet. The investigation plans to examine the issues of receiving gifts, travel compensation and loans related to his previous positions.

The son of the Norwegian Crown Princess pleaded not guilty to rape on February 3. In total, he is charged with 38 violations, including four episodes of sexual assault. However, he agreed with the evidence only on some minor points in the accusation.
