Avalanche danger declared in Kamchatka region

An avalanche danger warning has been announced in the Kamchatka Territory. Unfavorable conditions are expected from February 7-9.

According to forecasts, unauthorized snowfall is likely on the slopes of Kozelsky, Avachinsky, Koryaksky and Vilyuchinsky volcanoes. In addition, avalanches are possible in Vilyuchinsk, Yelizovsky district and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The KamchatkaMedia news agency writes about this.

Tourists, athletes, hunters, and organizations that work in the mountains are advised to take increased security measures. Avalanche-prone areas should be avoided in the coming days.

Earlier that day, an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 was registered in Kamchatka. The epicenter was located in the waters of the Avacha Bay.
