MAER supported Russian Olympians at media contests across the country
A large-scale campaign in support of Russian Olympians who went to the Winter Games in Italy in a neutral status was launched on the streets of major Russian cities. The words "Time to win!" appeared on the media facades and digital screens of the MAER media holding. The whole of Russia is for you!"
In 2026, the Olympics will be hosted by two cities at once: Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. A total of 116 sets of medals in 16 sports will be awarded in Italy. About 3.5 thousand athletes from 93 national teams will compete for them. There are 13 of our compatriots among them. They became:
- Adelia Petrosyan, Peter Gumennik — figure skating;
- Daria Nepryaeva, Savely Korostelev — cross-country skiing;
- Semyon Efimov, Yulia Pleshkova — skiing;
- Daria Olesik, Pavel Repilov — tobogganing;
- Ksenia Korzhova, Anastasia Semenova — speed skating;
- Alyona Krylova, Ivan Posashkov — short track;
- Nikita Filippov — ski mountaineering.
Our skier Daria Nepryaeva, speed skater Ksenia Korzhova and luge skier Pavel Repilov will start tomorrow.
"The features of the neutral status prohibit the state from supporting athletes who went to international competitions. But a private business can! Therefore, all over the country from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, at media facades and in the media, we remind you that now is "The time to win!“We look forward to successful performances from our athletes and remember that they are already heroes. Those who receive the medal will surely be seen by the whole of Russia on street screens. And, of course, we will definitely give the Olympians a warm welcome when they return home," said Konstantin Mayor, owner and CEO of the MAER media holding.
He added that the media holding's specialists had prepared 13 congratulatory videos for each Olympian in advance and were waiting for news from Italy.
"I am sure that in a situation where our guys are left without a flag and anthem, they need maximum support," said the Major.
Alexander Panzhinsky, a skier and silver medalist at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, believes that his colleagues Daria Nepryaeva and Savely Korostelev have a good chance of winning medals in skiathlon and marathon.
"The most important thing is to take a deep breath and then exhale, because the burden of responsibility, when you come close to the dream, the goal of your whole life, it is incredibly high. You need to abstract from what is being said around you and focus on your task. And the only task is to show your maximum. Well, enjoy the atmosphere, because the Olympics are something incredible," said Alexander Panzhinsky, a skier and silver medalist at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver.
"I am sure that our guys have been preparing for this Olympics for more than one year, but all their lives, and have come in the best possible shape. Therefore, I just want to realize my potential, give all my strength for the medals they have been striving for for so long," added Evgeny Korotyshkin, a swimmer and silver medalist at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
The opening ceremony will begin at 22:00 Moscow time.
