In Moscow, they said goodbye to the widow of People's Artist of the USSR Alexei Batalov, Gitana Leontenko. Footage of the farewell on February 6 is published by Izvestia.
The farewell ceremony took place in the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker at the Transfiguration Cemetery. Her friends and colleagues came to say goodbye to Leontenko.
Later, the actress was buried in the same cemetery in a family grave. Batalov is resting nearby.
Vladimir Ivanov, a family friend, told about Leontenko's death at the age of 91 the day before. Ivanov added that she died last week. Since 1944, Leontenko began performing in a gypsy circus group with plastic sketches, and since 1950 — as a dancer on a horse.
