The court in Simferopol postponed the hearing on the case of ex-MP Balbek.
The Kiev District Court of Simferopol postponed the hearing in the case of former State Duma deputy Ruslan Balbek due to the deterioration of his health. This was announced on February 5 by the lawyer of one of the accused, Alexei Anokhin, who is familiar with the materials of the ex-deputy's case.
"Balbec became ill in the courtroom, an ambulance was called. The preliminary hearing will be on another day. Theoretically, the preliminary hearing could have started today, but, of course, nothing has already started," Anokhin told RIA Novosti.
According to him, the accused had a sharp jump in blood pressure. Medical assistance was provided on the spot, hospitalization was not required. Also, due to the postponement of the hearing, the court did not consider the issue of extending the preventive measure for Balbek.
On August 14, 2025, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Crimea reported that Ruslan Balbek, an ex-State Duma deputy from Crimea, was put on the wanted list and later detained in Kabardino-Balkaria. A criminal case has been opened against him under articles on illegal access to information and defamation. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
