Doctors in Moscow rescued a 12-year-old patient who swallowed four needles

Doctors from the Research Institute of Emergency Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology at Dr. Roshal's clinic rescued a 12—year-old child who swallowed four needles and two comb teeth. This was reported at the medical institution on Thursday, February 5.

"The patient swallowed a sharp object. Yes, not one, but several at once — as they say, from the heart. Our doctors found four needles and two comb teeth after X-raying the patient. The team of the endoscopy department took on the task of removing needles from the duodenum," the Moscow City News agency quoted the message.

The doctors managed to grab three needles with forceps at once and carefully pull them out of the digestive tract. Then a check was performed to ensure that there were no wall perforations, bleeding, or other foreign bodies.

The last needle and two teeth of the comb left the body naturally, the clinic concluded.
