Cyclist Alina Lysenko became the European champion on February 5, winning the keirin on the last day of the competition in Konya, Turkey.

In the final race, the athlete was able to beat her main rivals. Thus, French Matilda Gros won silver, and German Lia Sophie Friedrich won bronze.

Lysenko stressed that this victory was especially important for her, and thanked her for her support.

"I tried very hard to please everyone. Today is the final day, and it went well. Thank you all, and see you at the next races!" she said.

This is Alina's second medal at the tournament. Lysenko had previously won the bronze medal in the sprint. She defeated the German athlete Paulina Grabosch. However, in the semifinals, she lost to the future European champion, British Emma Finucane.

Thus, Alina Lysenko's performance in Konya brought two medals in the sprint disciplines at once.
