Rostec has developed remote detonation projectiles to destroy UAVs
Specialists of the Rostec state Corporation have developed a 30-mm cartridge with a shrapnel shell and a remotely controlled fuse to eliminate unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was announced on February 5 on the website of the organization's press service.
"The ammunition is designed to increase the likelihood of hitting small-sized drones and barrage ammunition. The sighting system calculates the most advantageous detonation point depending on the flight path of the target, which allows you to get the drone with shrapnel. The time for detonation is entered automatically via the optical line. The projectile will significantly increase the effectiveness of 30-mm cannons mounted on various platforms when firing at drones," Bekhan Ozdoeva, industrial director of the Rostec cluster of armaments, ammunition and special chemicals, is quoted in the text as saying.
It is noted that the development was included in the unified exposition of Rosoboronexport, which will be demonstrated at the international exhibition World Defense Show 2026, which will be held from February 8 to 12 in Riyadh.
Rostec reported that Russia will also present a new highly mobile multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) at the World Defense Show this year "Sarma." It is noted that this 300-mm caliber equipment is based on an 8x8 all-wheel drive chassis. The developed complex, according to the organization, is capable of effectively hitting various targets, including manpower, artillery, armored vehicles, enemy air defense systems and other military facilities.
