Over the past decade, over 30 houses in the neoclassical architectural style have been renovated in the south-west of Moscow as part of housing renovation programs. This was reported on the portal on February 5. mos.ru .

"A typical representative of Soviet neoclassicism can be called an apartment building located at 70/11 Leninsky Prospekt <...> Specialists replaced the entrance doors and installed modern double-glazed windows. The basement of the building was put in order: the granite of the front side was repaired and a new plaster layer was applied to its courtyard," the article says.

Built in 1956 by architects Yakov Belopolsky and Dmitry Burdin, the building has a complicated shape — to get into the courtyard, you need to pass through the arches. The object is distinguished by its beveled corners, multilevel design, and is famous for its protruding part, the canopies. Major repairs were carried out there three years ago, when it was possible to restore facades and basements, as well as replace engineering systems.

The second notable house that was worked on as part of the program was a five-storey building at 43 Vavilova Street. Representing the trends of the 1950s, it was built with neoclassical elements, which include balcony slabs decorated with authentic brackets and a crowning cornice with dentils.

"The facade of the house was restored and the risers of the engineering systems were replaced. Before starting work, the specialists of the Capital Repair Fund developed a separate project that takes into account all the features of the building, the presence of decor, as well as its coloristic solution," the text clarified.

It is noted that the first stage of the workers cleared the facade of the building, the second — put the plaster layer in order and repaired the architectural elements, and the third — repaired the balcony slabs, brackets, changed screens and fences, and also installed new entrance doors, replaced the drain, tides and renovated the basement of the building.

Finally, the third five-storey building, located at 28 Nagornaya Street, building 1, was also renovated. The facade, roof and entrances were repaired, as well as a number of engineering systems were replaced. As a final step, the experts repaired the entrances and balconies. The tides were replaced and new drainpipes were installed.

On January 7, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, spoke about the progress of restoration work being carried out in the city. So, according to him, 144 historical monuments were restored in 2025, and since 2011 this figure is 2.5 thousand objects. The mayor noted that Moscow carefully preserves its heritage.
