Ukrainian media reported on the detention of a shopping mall employee for abuse of authority

Employees of the DBI (State Bureau of Investigation) of Ukraine detained an employee of the Shopping mall (territorial recruitment center, an analogue of military enlistment offices in Ukraine) and declared him suspected of beating conscripts. This was reported on February 3 by the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper.

"The investigation found that the officer repeatedly exceeded his official authority, kicked the mobilized, and then also made video clips of his "virtues." His actions were systemic in nature; they show disregard for the requirements of the law and the basic principles of military service," the Bureau of Investigation said.

The detainee is suspected of abuse of office under martial law during military accounting activities in the period from August to September 2025.

Currently, measures are being taken to establish the involvement of other persons, including senior officials, in these illegal actions, the authors of the material specify.

The publication "Country.ua" on January 31 reported that an employee of the military enlistment office in Ukraine, during a quarrel with civilians living in the Zhytomyr region, resorted to the use of firearms. It was noted that the incident itself occurred in the Novoguivinsk community.
