Cyclist Lysenko started at the European Track Cycling Championships
Russian cyclist, world and European junior champion Alina Lysenko made a successful start at the European Track Cycling Championships in Konya, Turkey, on February 3.
It is noted that in the qualifying race in the sprint, the cyclist showed a high result, giving way to British Emma Finucane and Sophie Capwell, as well as German participant Leia Sophie Friedrich. At the same time, in the quarterfinals of the competition, Lysenko also beat German athlete Paulina Grabosch in two rounds, ensuring her entry into the semifinals.
In the semifinals of the sprint race, Lysenko will face Emma Finucane, who set a new world record in the 200 m gita at the last qualifying race — 9.759 seconds — and thereby surpassed the record set in March last year at the same track (9.976 seconds), owned by Chinese Liyin Yuan.
In July last year, Lysenko joined the Marathon-Tula team, where she joined the Russian team. The Russian cyclist won two gold medals — in the 1 km gita and the keirin. Last season, Lysenko won the UCI Champions League sprint classification and got into the top 10 of the Forbes "30 under 30" rating.
