The government has approved a bill on the control of the Ministry of Sports over personnel in the regions

Regional sports officials will be able to be appointed to their places only after coordination with the Ministry of Sports. Such a bill was approved by the government commission on legislative activity, sources in the Cabinet of Ministers told Izvestia on February 2.

The draft law proposes to establish that the federal executive authority in the field of physical culture and sports, the Ministry of Sports of Russia, coordinates the appointment and dismissal of heads of executive bodies of subjects of the Russian Federation in the field of physical culture and sports in accordance with the procedure established by the government, said Vladimir Gruzdev, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Lawyers of Russia.

"Additionally, it is proposed to amend the Federal Law "On the general principles of the organization of public power in the subjects of the Russian Federation" in terms of establishing the right of federal executive authorities to participate in the formation of executive authorities of the subject of the Russian Federation in the field of physical culture and sports," Gruzdev said.

The project is aimed at improving the management efficiency of the physical education and sports industry and ensuring uniform standards for the implementation of state policy in this area.
