Excessive sweating for no apparent reason is not just discomfort, but a possible signal from the body about serious cardiovascular diseases. On February 3, Natalia Solovyova, a cardiologist at the Semeynaya Clinic Network, told Izvestia about this.

The expert pays special attention to the most alarming scenario: if you suddenly break out in a cold, sticky sweat, feel chills, and your skin becomes cold. This is the nervous system's response to extreme stress in the body.

"This condition is often accompanied by pressing or burning pain behind the sternum, extending into the shoulder blade or lower jaw, nausea and dizziness are possible. A similar set of symptoms may indicate a developing myocardial infarction. If it occurs, especially if you have diabetes or high cholesterol, you should immediately call an ambulance — delay is extremely dangerous," the doctor warned.

For people with coronary heart disease, the appearance of severe sweating along with chest pain is a sign of unstable angina, a pre-infarction condition that also requires emergency hospitalization. In addition, chronic excessive sweating, especially at night, against a background of loss of strength and increased fatigue may indicate inflammatory heart diseases such as myocarditis or endocarditis. They often develop as a complication after suffering from sore throat, pneumonia or flu.

"Sweating is rarely the only symptom of heart problems. If it occurs suddenly and acutely, this is a reason to urgently seek help. If the symptom bothers you regularly, without acute pain, but you have risk factors or you have recently suffered an infection, be sure to schedule a visit to a therapist or cardiologist for examination," concluded Solovyova.

On October 17, Valeria Ivanitskaya, an endocrinologist at Invitro, said that the first signs of a "hormonal malfunction" were difficult to notice due to the fast pace of life. Therefore, it is advisable to monitor your well-being on a daily basis, as sometimes the symptoms of ill health may seem insignificant, and the so-called hormonal malfunction may be hidden under the mask of malaise.
