Pakistan's security forces have eliminated 145 militants from the Balochistan Liberation Army after violence erupted across Balochistan. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on February 1.

According to Sarfaraz Bugti, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, the dead include the militants eliminated on January 30 and 31, as well as those whom the security forces killed on February 1 during the continuation of the raids.

Bugti added that 17 law enforcement officers and 31 civilians were killed during the raids.

The article notes that Pakistan has accused India of sponsoring militants. India denies the charges. "We categorically reject the unfounded accusations made by Pakistan," said Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal.

Clashes between the Balochistan Liberation Army and the Pakistani security forces began on January 30 in several areas of the region, including Quetta, Gwadar, Mastung and Noshki.

In December last year, five Pakistani policemen were killed in an attack with explosives and firearms on their minibus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Local police reported that the car was first attacked by improvised explosive devices, and then fired at by unknown persons.
