Indonesia has again allowed the use of Grok Mask in the country
Indonesia allowed the xAI of American billionaire Elon Musk to resume the work of the Grok chatbot after the government received guarantees that the chatbot would prohibit the generation of sexualized content in the country. This was reported by Bloomberg on February 1.
Earlier in early January, the Indonesian authorities temporarily banned the use of the Grok chatbot in the country due to the fact that pornographic images, including those with minors, can be generated through it.
The Indonesian government has received a letter from xAI stating that the company has taken measures to combat abuse in the use of the Grok chatbot, the material says.
In a statement, the government said it would continue to monitor Grok's actions for further violations, including the distribution of illegal content and violations of child protection principles.
On January 11, Musk made a repost of a photo of the British prime minister in a bikini generated by artificial intelligence (AI), saying that the British authorities want to ban freedom of speech. This is how the billionaire reacted to reports that the UK authorities are considering banning the social network X due to the scandal with the chatbot Mask Grok. Users have started using the neural network to create sexualized deepfakes of real people, including celebrities and children.
On January 12, Starmer warned that the country would establish control over the Grok chatbot integrated into the X social network if the American company did not take measures to regulate it. The Prime Minister added that the Government will not tolerate violations of security and human rights.
After that, xAI imposed restrictions on users of the Grok chatbot to edit images and "undress" people based on photos.
