Sobyanin spoke about the construction of year-round playgrounds in Moscow
23 year-round sports grounds will be built in Moscow. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, noting that in 2026 work on the creation of such sites will take place, in particular, in the Pykhtino Park in Vnukovo and in the landscape park near Kadyrov Street.
"This year we will continue to update and create affordable sports infrastructure. In 2025, we developed a standard for ski trail equipment and decided to make 14 flagship ski trails with a total length of more than 240 kilometers. One of them was opened in the 850th Anniversary of Moscow Park in Maryina," Sobyanin wrote on his Twitter feed.
According to him, of the existing ski slopes, the track on the territory of the Luzhniki Olympic complex meets the new standard. In total, about 430 ski trails with a total length of over 700 km are operating in the capital this winter, of which about 30 are with artificial snow (almost 143 km) and about 400 with natural snow.
Sobyanin recalled that last year 11 multifunctional sports grounds of a new format were equipped in Moscow. They appeared, in particular, in the Artem Borovik Park, the park near the Holy Lake, on the streets of 50 let Oktyabrya and Marshal Savitsky, as well as on the territory behind the Office Pond in Kommunarka.
Such playgrounds are equipped with a hockey box and a multifunctional pavilion. The mayor called their main advantage "the possibility of an easy transition from winter to summer mode."
The playgrounds are suitable for hockey, curling, mini hockey and figure skating. In summer, they can be used for volleyball, basketball, badminton, soccer and mini-football, roller hockey and streetball.
