In Kamchatka, the Shiveluch volcano spewed ash 6 km above sea level. This was announced on February 1 by the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (IVIS). Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"As a result of the explosion, the height of the ash emission reached 6 km above sea level," the Telegram channel said.

It is specified that the ash plume spread to 70 km from the volcano. An "orange" aviation hazard code has been announced, indicating a ban on flights in the volcano area.

On January 28, the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Group (KVERT) of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) reported that the Shiveluch volcano spewed ash 7 km above sea level. It was clarified that the ash plume spread 110 km west of the volcano.
