The deputy of the AfD declared the impossibility of the UN to be an arbitrator in the international arena

The United Nations (UN) must be reformed, it cannot be an arbiter in the international arena. This was stated on January 31 in an interview with Izvestia by the deputy of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Joerg Urban.

"It is a misconception to believe that the United Nations can be an arbitrator in the international arena. Such a neutral authority over States cannot exist. It either represents a "toothless tiger" like today's UN, or it would turn into a tyrannical world state," he said.

According to Urban, conducting a "classical foreign policy" should remain a matter for nation-states.

"I am in favor of fundamental reform of the United Nations. It should act only where it is about saving people's lives," Urban explained.
