The calculation of the Msta-S self-propelled artillery installation (ACS) of the Vostok group of forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed a network of fortified structures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on January 31 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The ministry clarified that calculations of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the troops of the unmanned systems (UAS) of the Vostok group of forces had calculated the location of a network of extensive positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the forest belt.

The enemy moved personnel between shelters and firing positions, trying to strengthen the defense and hold the line using pre-prepared structures. The discovered stronghold had numerous deeply buried dugouts and was equipped with UAV control points and electronic warfare (EW) stations.

After additional reconnaissance, the UAV operators performed laser targeting and transmitted data on the deployment of enemy targets to the Msta-S ACS, which promptly moved into a firing position and launched a series of strikes with Krasnopol guided artillery ammunition.

As a result of precise strikes, enemy strongholds, shelters and firing points were eliminated. The servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces successfully thwarted the enemy's attempt to gain a foothold in this area, thereby complicating the retention of prepared positions.

On January 30, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the calculations of the Buk anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the Vostok group of forces of the Russian Armed Forces disrupted an air attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Zaporozhye region. According to the ministry, during the duty, the Buk crews recorded small-sized high-speed targets that were moving towards the rear positions of the Russian Armed Forces and civilian infrastructure. After capturing the targets, the SAM operators eliminated them.
