During a briefing on January 30, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on the scandal with the performance of the ballet Swan Lake by Ukrainian artists, jokingly suggesting that the Kiev regime continue to ban everything Russian, including the periodic Table.

"And when will the periodic table be banned in Ukraine?" asked Zakharova.

According to the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a scandal like what happened with Tchaikovsky's ballet is possible only in an anecdote or in Ukraine. Zakharova believes that such actions can lead Kiev to cancel "themselves completely."

The publication "Country. On January 22, ua reported that ballerina Natalia Matsak and Sergei Krivokon are facing dismissal due to their participation in composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake." Later it was reported that Krivokon was stripped of his armor from conscription.

At the same time, Italian cartoonist and artist Vauro Senesi, in an interview with Izvestia, reported that European propaganda was trying to break the deep cultural alliance that exists with Russia, commenting on attempts to dismiss for participating in Swan Lake. He believes that art, although not directly related to politics, represents one of the highest forms of its expression.
