Pavel Palekhov, a resident of Volgograd, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for filming the territory of a military unit of the Russian Ministry of Defense for the Ukrainian special services. This was announced on January 30 by the Prosecutor's office of the Volgograd region.

"The court found that Palekhov entered into correspondence with representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine via an Internet messenger and expressed his intention to carry out any orders on the territory of the Russian Federation," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is specified that in 2024, on the instructions of the curators, a man took photographs of a Ministry of Defense facility in Volgograd using a phone and a quadcopter. The man did not manage to transfer the materials, as he was detained. The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecution, imposed a sentence of 18 years in a high-security penal colony with subsequent restriction of liberty for 1.5 years.

On January 29, a resident of Tula was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The court found that the person involved in the case transferred money through a crypto exchange from a bank card using the VTB Online mobile application. The funds were intended to buy weapons, radio stations, and uniforms for the Ukrainian army, nationalist battalions, and extremist organizations.
