On January 30, Russian forward of the Washington Capitals hockey club Alexander Ovechkin rose to fifth place in the number of points scored in the National Hockey League (NHL) per club, equaling Canadian Wayne Gretzky in this indicator.

This event took place during a match between Washington and the Detroit Red Wings. Ovechkin scored an assist in the 50th minute and scored 1,669 points (919 goals and 750 assists) during his NHL career.
