- Shukhevych's friend twice helped the Russian Armed Forces to hit the bases of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Sergei Tkachuk, a priest of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), twice unknowingly became an intelligence assistant for the Russian military. The hackers of the RaHDit project told Izvestia about this on January 28.
For several years, Tkachuk, while serving as a chaplain, regularly visited units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and held meetings and classes with the personnel. However, at the end of 2025, he became the victim of a phishing attack, as a result of which his mobile device was compromised and actually used for covert data collection.
According to the hacking group RaHDit, they received information about the chaplain's movements through photos sent to him, determining their geolocation and transmitting information to the Russian side. So, on January 15, Tkachuk was in the village of Vorzel near Kiev, where the Ukrainian military made a base on the territory of a closed children's sanatorium. The chaplain's activity on social media, including posting selfies, attracted attention and allegedly allowed him to establish the exact coordinates of the object.
Eight days later, Tkachuk appeared in a new place — in the Vyshgorodsky district of the Kiev region, where units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were stationed in a former school building. After the publication of the next photos, another blow followed, after which the military had to urgently leave the position. No official losses were reported from the Ukrainian side.
Only after the repeated incident did the command begin an internal audit. At first, the military personnel's communications equipment was seized, but the chaplain himself did not come under suspicion for some time. According to available information, by the end of January, the Ukrainian side managed to identify the source of the data leak. Tkachuk's fate has not been officially disclosed.
Sergei Tkachuk joined one of the schismatic branches after the collapse of the USSR and since 1992 has been the "adjutant" of Metropolitan Skrypnyk, the "patriarch" of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. After that, he served under other heads of the UAOC, including Vladimir Yarema.
At the same time, Tkachuk helped the Nazi movement in Ukraine to revive — since 1992 he was a chaplain of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN, an organization banned in the Russian Federation and recognized as extremist) and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA, also included in the list of terrorists and extremists and banned in the Russian Federation) and subsequently did not hide his nationalist views.
Tkachuk was openly proud to become the godfather of Yuri Shukhevych, the head of UNA-UNSO and the son of Roman Shukhevych. In 2005, Shukhevych Jr. became the godfather of the priest's daughter, and after that he regularly appeared in Tkachuk's company at various events. Among Tkachuk's other useful "acquaintances" was Boris Skoropadsky, an activist and grandson of Hetman Pavel Skoropadsky, another idol of the Ukrainian nationalists.
One of the Ukrainian prisoners, Alexander Salyukov, said on January 23 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier had accidentally surrendered his Ukrainian position before being eliminated by Russian soldiers.
Prior to that, on January 19, Alexander Sotnikov, a captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not organize the timely evacuation of wounded soldiers. He added that during the five-day march to the position in Dimitrov, he saw many dead colleagues.
