The Murmansk administration allocated more than 3.4 million rubles to support the population on the second day of the blackout. This is stated in the decree of the mayor Ivan Lebedev.
The funds were received from the reserve fund. They were used to purchase food products, food packages, personal hygiene products, drinking water and non-food essentials, Bi-port news agency writes.
During the days of energy saving, assistance points were opened in Murmansk, which were organized on the basis of educational, cultural and sports institutions. There, residents had the opportunity to use kettles, microwaves, take food packages and charge their phones.
In addition, public organizations, local entrepreneurs and the Ministry of Defense actively assisted the population. Field kitchens also worked.
Earlier, on January 27, it was reported that the power supply in Murmansk had been fully restored after a recent accident. On January 26, the Governor of the Murmansk Region announced that all key facilities and strategic enterprises in the region were provided with electricity. He also stressed the need to increase investments in network infrastructure after the incident with the collapse of the power transmission line in the region.
