In India, a small plane crash killed five people, including 66-year-old Deputy Minister of Maharashtra and head of the NCP Ajit Pawar party. This was reported on January 28 by NDTV.

"The plane that took off from Mumbai at about 8:10 a.m. (10:40 a.m. Moscow time. — Ed.), crashed near Baramati Airport during a landing attempt an hour later," the article says.

According to local authorities, four more people were killed in the crash, including the pilots and security personnel of Pavar.
