The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has sent invitations to Russian luge skiers Daria Olesik and Pavel Repilov, as well as alpine skiers Semyon Efimov and Yulia Pleshkova. This was announced on January 27 by the press service of the committee.

It is noted that in order to participate in the competition, athletes will also need to accept invitations and sign all necessary agreements.

"Participation in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina is possible only if the athletes accept an individual invitation and sign the Terms of Participation applicable to all participants...> including the "peaceful mission of the Olympic Movement," according to a statement on the IOC website.

The IOC announced in December that Russian figure skaters Adelia Petrosyan and Peter Gumennik had accepted an invitation to participate in the 2026 Olympic Games in a neutral status. Later, an invitation was sent to Nikita Filippov, a Russian ski mountaineer.

In January, an invitation was sent to short-track athletes Ivan Posashkov and Alyona Krylova. In the same month, skiers Savely Korostelev and Daria Nepryaeva, as well as speed skating representatives Ksenia Korzhova and Anastasia Semenova, joined the list of those who accepted an invitation to the Olympics.
