France has a special position on the development of its military-industrial complex (MIC), which is why the country opposes Ukraine's use of a European loan for British weapons. This opinion was expressed by political scientist Alexander Asafov on Tuesday, January 27.

The Telegraph newspaper wrote on January 26 that France opposed attempts to allow Ukraine to use a loan issued by the European Union (EU) for the purchase of Storm Shadow missiles, RT reports. At the same time, a coalition of 11 European countries wants to allow Kiev to use the allocated credit funds to purchase British weapons.

Asafov noted that France has its own SCALP missile, which is actually the twin brother of the Storm Shadow missile, and using European credit funds to purchase British weapons looks unfair. He recalled that €90 billion is a large sum that Paris would like to keep inside the European Union.
