In 2026, six wrecks are planned to be recovered from the waters of Salmon Bay in the Sakhalin Region. The cleaning of the water area is carried out within the framework of the federal project "General Cleaning".

The work is carried out despite difficult weather conditions and ice conditions. Divers are preparing to extract another object from the water, SakhalinMedia news agency writes.

A total of 29 shipwrecks and their remains in the Sakhalin Region are planned to be removed by 2030.

The deadline for removing the wreck has been extended in the port of Murmansk. It has been in the water since April 2024. The ship's liquidation was supposed to be completed in September 2025, but the unfavorable hydrometeorological situation prevented the work from being carried out.
