In Tula, 340 people and 295 pieces of equipment were brought out to clean roads and adjacent territories. In addition to cleaning the roadway and sidewalks, deicing materials are being treated. Cars take out snow and remove flying debris.

Active work was also carried out the day before, on January 26. Foot loaders operated on Moskovskoe Highway, Chulkovsky Bridge, as well as on Proletarskaya, Pervomaiskaya and Lenin Avenue streets. Front loaders were brought to Pervomaiskaya, Novomoskovskoye Highway, Friedrich Engels, Kirov, Mikheev streets. Graders also cleared Pervomaiskaya, Pushkinskaya, Porokhovaya, Proletarskaya, Moskovskoye Highway and Lenin Avenue streets.

According to TSN24, over the past day, about 5 thousand cubic meters of snow were removed from city streets, 48.5 tons of deicing materials were consumed.

Earlier, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, said that heavy snowfall in the Moscow region was caused by a large difference between air masses. According to him, there is a big difference between the warm air mass that is coming and the air mass that is currently over Moscow. The greater the difference between masses with different physical properties, the more pronounced the frontal section is and the faster the air masses rise from the Earth's surface into high layers, which causes heavy and prolonged precipitation.
