The Ministry of Health has adopted a new standard for the treatment of influenza in adults

The Russian Ministry of Health has approved a new standard of medical care for adult patients with influenza, the average duration of treatment for which will be nine days. Information about this on January 26 follows from the department's order.

According to the document reviewed by RIA Novosti, the diagnosis of the disease involves the examination of seven specialists: an obstetrician-gynecologist, a hematologist, an infectious disease specialist, a cardiologist, a neurologist, a pulmonologist and a therapist.

In addition, laboratory diagnostics includes 27 research methods, including analysis of the level of C-reactive protein and procalcitonin in the blood, microscopic examination of cerebrospinal fluid, as well as molecular biological studies of nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs for influenza viruses, parainfluenza, adenoviruses, rhinoviruses, coronaviruses and other respiratory pathogens.

It is noted that the list of instrumental methods includes targeted chest X-ray, spinal puncture and pulse oximetry.
