President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law extending mobilization and martial law in Ukraine until May 4, 2026. The relevant documents were published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on January 26.

"I decree: <...> to extend the period of martial law in Ukraine from <...> February 3, 2026 for a period of 90 days," the text of the decree says.

On January 23, Zelensky signed a decree on updating the composition of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Headquarters. The former head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Malyuk was removed from it. According to the document, the headquarters now includes the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Mikhail Fedorov, and the country's first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Denis Shmygal.
