The State Duma warned about the risks in case of GDZ blockages
The Ministry of Education's idea of pre-trial blocking of websites with answers to school assignments and exams (GDZ) looks redundant and may have negative consequences. This was announced on January 26 by Anton Gorelkin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, in the Max messenger.
"In my opinion, putting school cheat sheets on a par with destructive information is too much...> no blockages will work, but they will most likely lead schoolchildren to the darknet and scammers," Gorelkin wrote.
The MP also stressed that problems in the field of education should not be solved through amendments to the Law on Information. In his opinion, it is necessary to review the education system itself, reduce the burden on schoolchildren and make exam preparation more meaningful. Gorelkin added that the pre-trial blocking mechanism is designed to counteract socially dangerous information, and not to stimulate educational motivation.
