Ryabkov declared full assurance of Russia's national security
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on January 25 that Russia's national security was 100% guaranteed, answering a question about secret US weapons.
"Our safety is 100% guaranteed. And if they (the United States) want to try to intimidate us in some way or force us to justify ourselves in some way, then neither one nor the other will work," he said in an interview with TASS.
He stressed that Moscow is acting in accordance with its international obligations, as well as in accordance with its own interests of ensuring national security.
On January 24, US President Donald Trump revealed the name of the secret weapon that the US military used during the operation in Venezuela. According to him, the weapon prevented the launch of missiles and the shooting down of American helicopters.
Earlier, on January 21, the former deputy commander-in-chief of the Russian Air Force for the United Air Defense System of the CIS countries, Lieutenant General Aytech Bizhev, in an interview with Izvestia, said that Trump's statement about the use of "unprecedented weapons" in Venezuela was not true. According to him, the technologies used there have long been known and used by the leading powers.
