In Ukraine, residents reported visits to ski resorts amid blackouts
Ukrainians visit ski resorts en masse amid blackouts in many cities of the country. This was reported on January 25 by the Ukrainian edition "Страна.иа ".
"Against the background of blackouts in many cities of Ukraine, the Bukovel ski resort is experiencing an influx of tourists," the publication's Telegram channel says.
It is clarified that the video published by the publication shows a huge queue of tourists who want to ride the funicular. According to the "Country.ua", the electricity was not turned off in Bukovel, as the resort directly imports it from Europe.
The day before, one of the Ukrainian companies reported that Ukraine had increased electricity imports from Europe due to an emergency situation in the country's energy sector. It was noted that the volume of purchases of imported electricity covers more than half of the needs of all the company's enterprises.
Prior to that, on January 22, it was reported that the most difficult situation with energy supply remains in Kiev and five regions of Ukraine. Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko stated that 160 utility crews were involved in restoring electricity, and the authorities of the Ukrainian capital should actively work to eliminate interruptions.
Later it became known that Ukraine's energy industry had experienced its most difficult day since the 2022 blackout. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine called on citizens to prepare a stock of food and suitcases of basic necessities against the background of an emergency in the energy sector.
