IBU disqualified German biathletes after winning the singles mixed
The International Biathlon Union (IBU) has disqualified German biathletes Marlene Fichtner and Leonard Pfund after winning the singles mixed at the sixth stage of the World Cup. This was announced on January 24 by the IBU press service.
"This is not the final of the competition that we would like. Germany was disqualified due to violations of safety rules when shooting with a rifle," a message on the social network X said.
It is noted that Fichtner did not keep her hand in the safety belt of the rifle after the first shooting from a prone position.
According to Sport-Express, the new winners are Finns Suvi Minkkinen and Tero Seppjala. The second place went to French biathletes Jeanne Richard and Emilien Claude. The bronze medal was awarded to Norwegians Juni Arnekleiv and Martin Nevland.
