US President Donald Trump's criticism of Europe at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos was related to the fact that European countries are slowly killing themselves with their actions. This was announced on January 24 by Stephen Miller, Deputy head of the US administration.

"Europe is killing itself with regulations, crazy migration policy," he said on Fox News channel.

He added that Europe had been relying on U.S. defense subsidies for years instead of developing its armed forces on its own.

Miller also commented on the US claims to Greenland, noting that Washington has already received what it wanted in the matter of this island.

"Greenland is essential to American national security, as President Trump said. <...> Now on the Greenland issue, thanks to the art of making a deal, the United States has got everything they want and everything they need for free so that we can protect the world," Miller said.

Earlier, on January 23, Philip Pilknington, a columnist for The American Conservative (AC) magazine, suggested that the Trump administration was publicly humiliating the European Union (EU) because of the unwillingness of European leaders to enter into negotiations with Russia. According to the author, Europe uses all means to sabotage any peace initiatives.
