Mass strikes with almost 100,000 participants took place in Minnesota against the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This was reported on January 23 by the CBS News channel.

Hundreds of businesses in Minneapolis and St. Paul were closed on Friday in protest at the presence of federal immigration agents in Minnesota.

The protesters asked not to work, study, or go shopping, calling it "Truth and Freedom Day." According to the TV channel, about 300 businesses were closed for the day, while some decided to continue working to help the protesters.

Earlier, on January 23, NBC reported that five activists had locked themselves in the office of San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria for several hours, demanding that local authorities stop cooperating with ICE. It was noted that the protesters called their actions a sit-in.
