On January 23, the capital's Khudozhestvenny cinema invited the secular public to travel through time — a once-familiar kiosk with videotapes and a telephone booth appeared inside, wires and television antennas hung from the ceiling, and the second season of the crime drama "Children of Change" was shown on the screen. The stars of the project appeared on the red carpet — Victoria Isakova, Slava Kopeikin, Sergey Gilev and others. Izvestia was among the guests and the first audience.

Slava Kopeikin transformed into a knight from the 1990s

The first season of the crime family drama "Children of Change" was released in 2024 and successfully rode the wave of nostalgia for the 1990s. He became one of a series of projects on the theme of dashing after the acclaimed "The Boy's Word", but he did not get lost among them and gave fans of the genre a new look. Although, however, he took actors who were already familiar in their characteristic roles on this journey into the past. For example, Slava Kopeikin, whom the general audience had previously recognized as Turbo from the Supermarket street group in the drama by Zhora Kryzhovnikov.

In "Children of Change," he is the eldest son of trolleybus driver Flora Peter. He has two brothers. All three of them have different fathers. The events unfold in the midst of the controversial 1990s, when illegal business is flourishing, the smell of easy and crazy money is in the air, and criminal gangs are in power. Life "according to concepts" gradually destroys the family. The finale of the first season becomes the apogee of discord, when Peter climbs to the top of the criminal hierarchy, but pays too high a price for it.

The audience has been waiting for more than a year for the continuation of the story, where now everything will turn upside down. On the eve of the closed premiere of the second season, the capital's Khudozhestvenny cinema opened its doors to the secular public, echoing the past decades. Inside, the once-familiar video cassette stand and telephone booth appeared, wires stretched from the ceiling between streetlights and forgotten television antennas hung like a burden of the past, sausage and butter sandwiches were on the menu.

But few people have chosen the appropriate images for the red carpet. Among these few was the wife of actor Ruzil Minekaev, Aziza, who donned a retro Olympic jacket. And the star of "Children of Change," Slava Kopeikin, interpreted the fashion code of the era in a special way and distinguished himself from everyone present - he appeared in a corset imitating either a press or armor.

— A knight was planned. Beautiful, I hope. It seemed to me that there was a connection with bandits — they also have some kind of codes of honor. Peculiar, but there is. They are such knights of their time. They're bad, but they're knights,— the actor explained the choice of outfit to Izvestia.

The drama of a generation in the history of one family

In the second season, his character will be guided, on the one hand, by a thirst for revenge and a desire to regain authority, on the other — by the desire to start a new, normal life, as far as possible. His main enemy becomes his own mother.

Victoria Isakova plays the role of Flora. Her character, in a sense, follows the path of Daenerys Stormborn from Game of Thrones. In the first season, this is a smiling female trolleybus driver with a soft look, who even at the end of the working day, sitting at the wheel, does not lose her positivity and gives it to passengers. Besides, she's the only figure who unites such diverse members of her family. Now she's becoming a crime boss herself. He still believes that everything he does is for the sake of his children, but at the same time he is at war with his own son. The clouds are gathering so much that the creators call the first season a warm-up. In the history of one family, there is a trauma of an entire generation.

— It's hard to get rid of it when there's no support, when you don't know what's going to happen to you tomorrow. This is a very difficult psychological situation. As time passed, everything became more or less clear - how to live, how to make money, how to create a family. At that time, it was in a zone of complete unpredictability. This is the trauma," one of the project's directors, Sergey Taramaev, explained in an interview with Izvestia. — The intensity of hatred becomes as active as possible. The second season is more towards Twin Peaks, towards David Lynch, because there are more paradoxes, more mysticism. This is how it differs from the first season, where there is still at least some harmony or an attempt to come to it.

— In some ways, the plot is more extreme, harsh, but also more tragic, - added another director of the project, Lyubov Lvova.

The extreme part directly affected actor Konstantin Plotnikov, who joined the project. He is known to the audience, in particular, for the role of the Pot in "The King and the Fool" (by the way, a full meter will be released in the cinema in February). Here he is Jean, Flora's right—hand man and lover.

— Jin strives to fulfill all his desires. (Laughs.) He falls in love and gives love — difficult, very difficult, but beautiful. I like the love line this season. He's a tough guy on a motorcycle who can solve problems. I studied for a couple of months. I got a rather difficult chopper, which weighs about 400 kg. But now I want a cross—country bike," Plotnikov shared with Izvestia on the red carpet. He came to Moscow from St. Petersburg to, among other things, play on the stage of the Ermolova Theater in the play "Son".

Among the guests of the premiere were Alexander Yatsenko, the star of "Lilies of the Valley" Nika Zdorik, Elena Nikolaeva, Yulia Afanasyeva, Olga Dolmatovskaya, who recently released the series "Moscow does not believe in Tears" with Zhora Gooseberry, and others. The appearance of Aglaya Tarasova caused a special stir. The actress began to come out after being accused of drug smuggling because of an electronic cigarette with a prohibited substance. She did not avoid journalists, but she did not answer questions about the topic of the evening.

— I would answer questions about the film, if there is, — said the actress with a smile when asked if she is working now.

Which will be stronger — personal ambitions or family ties, the viewer will find out in a week. The premiere of the second season of the series "Children of Change" will take place on January 29 exclusively in online cinemas START and Wink. The series was shot with the support of NMG Studios.
