Nilov spoke about the draft law on "intimidating" images on alcohol
State Duma deputies proposed placing warnings about the dangers and images of affected human organs caused by excessive alcohol consumption on alcohol bottles. This was announced on January 21 by Yaroslav Nilov, head of the Duma Committee on Labor.
"Frightening images became the "decoration" of tobacco packs in Russia more than a decade ago... We want to achieve the same effect of "shock" anti—advertising from alcoholic beverages in order to discourage people from poisoning their bodies," Nilov told RIA Novosti.
The bill provides for amendments to the Federal Law on the Regulation of Alcoholic Beverages, including the mandatory indication of relevant information about the dangers of alcohol and contraindications for certain categories of citizens. The accompanying drawings will be approved by the federal health authority, and, according to the authors of the initiative, this will reduce alcohol consumption and improve the demographic situation in the country.
