The European Union (EU) has fallen into an energy trap from the United States by rejecting gas from Russia. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on January 18, citing sources.

According to the newspaper, the EU currently depends on the supply of liquefied natural gas from the United States, as it is gradually abandoning gas supplies from Russia. At the same time, due to the policy pursued by American President Donald Trump, relations between European countries and the United States are becoming very vulnerable. In this regard, Politico hinted at the lack of energy security of the European Union.
