The "Our Way" movement of Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan has registered the "Strong Armenia" party in Armenia. This was announced on January 19 by Marianna Kagramanyan, the movement's press secretary.

"Members of the Our Way movement, formed by the family of Samvel Karapetyan, the owner of Tashir companies, have registered a party called Strong Armenia," she told TASS.

According to the electronic register, the party was registered by Aleksan Aleksanyan, Ashot Farsyan and Lena Matevosyan, members of the "In Our Way" movement. According to the press secretary, the party was needed for the political realization of the ideas that underlie the movement.

"The organizational work of the force under the leadership of Samvel Karapetyan is at the final stage. In the near future, the political force will formulate a clear program and present its vision of Armenia's development," Kagramanyan said.

Karapetyan, who is accused in Armenia of calling for the overthrow of power in the republic and financial fraud, returned from the Yerevan detention center of the National Security Service under house arrest on January 18. Karapetyan's lawyer, Aram Vardevanyan, said that such a development was expected, stressing that there were signs of illegality in the case.

On July 3, the Armenian parliament adopted in the final reading laws allowing the nationalization of the company "Electric Networks of Armenia", which belonged to Karapetyan. The opposition expressed disagreement, considering the process illegal. On July 15, the opposition political parties of the Armenian parliament appealed to the Constitutional Court (CC) demanding that the law on the nationalization of Karapetyan's Electric Grids be declared unconstitutional.

On July 23, Karapetyan defeated the Armenian government in the International Arbitration Court in the case of the nationalization of the "Electric Grids of Armenia", which belonged to him. Later, on November 6, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan linked the order of nationalization of the "Electric Grids of Armenia" with their cost.

Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) On November 17, Armenia signed a document revoking the license of the Electric Networks of Armenia Company (ENA), which is owned by Karapetyan. Four out of five members of the commission voted for the relevant decision.
