In Bashkiria, the property of the former deputy head of the district was arrested for 44 million rubles.

A court in Bashkiria has confiscated 13 apartments and two foreign cars with a total value of more than 44 million rubles from the former deputy head of the Meleuzovsky district administration, suspected of mediating bribery. This was announced on January 19 by the Prosecutor's Office of the republic.

The agency found out that in the period from 2020 to 2024, the former official, his wife and her mother purchased apartments in Ufa and Meleuz, as well as Lexus and Kia K3 cars.

"In Meleuz, thanks to the intervention of the prosecutor's office, property worth more than 44 million rubles was seized, acquired by an ex-official with unconfirmed income," the Bashkiria prosecutor's office said.

It is noted that, in addition, a criminal case has been opened against the ex-official under paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Mediation in large-scale bribery").
