A resident of Crimea won 1 million rubles in one of the lotteries. He bought the tickets on New Year's Eve, the organizers of the drawing said.

According to the man, at the end of December, he purchased several tickets, choosing them at random. On the morning of January 1, he saw an SMS notification about the winnings, but could not believe his eyes.

"I went out on the balcony, took a breath, and only then took another look at the winnings. I always thought that I didn't give a damn, and that made the moment of winning even more emotional," the Crimean shared his impressions.

The winner also said that he enjoys fishing and caught a carp weighing 5 kg last year in 2025. According to IA SevastopolMedia, the man has not yet decided what he will spend the money on.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that budget receipts from lotteries in January–December 2025 increased by almost a third compared to a year earlier, to 6 billion rubles. People tend to compensate for financial stress with "fast" winning chances, experts say.
