The international company Tengizchevroil temporarily stopped oil production at the Tengiz and Korolevskoye fields in Kazakhstan after the fire that occurred on January 18. This was announced on January 19 by the company's press service.

Tengizchevroil (TCO) confirms that, as a precautionary measure, it has temporarily suspended production at the Tengiz and Korolevskoye fields. This decision was made in connection with a situation that has arisen affecting some electricity distribution systems at production facilities," the company told TASS.

It is noted that there were no casualties as a result of the incident, and staff safety issues remain a priority. In addition, Tengizchevroil's technical services have begun to investigate the causes of the fire. Experts called the safe elimination of the consequences of the incident the main task. The company also reported on cooperation with government agencies to minimize possible consequences and stressed that production facilities are under reliable control.

On January 13, a fire broke out on the Matilda tanker, chartered by the American Chevron company to transport Kazakh oil from the terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) as a result of a drone attack. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan also reported that a second tanker, the Liberian-flagged Delta Harmony, was attacked. There was a fire on it, which was quickly eliminated.
