Sobyanin spoke about the development of Moscow's municipal infrastructure
More than 290 km of water supply and sanitation networks were reconstructed and built in Moscow in 2025. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his channel in the IACH.
The head of Moscow stressed that the development of the city is impossible without reliable communal infrastructure. "In addition, new networks create a reserve of capacity for the future," Sobyanin wrote.
In 2025, almost 180 km of networks were built in Moscow, and more than 110 km were repaired. For example, during the comprehensive landscaping, the networks on Shchelkovsky Highway and Volgogradsky Prospekt were modernized.
The mayor noted that domestic materials are used in the work on public utilities. At the same time, the reconstruction of the networks is carried out using trenchless technologies, which reduces the amount of excavation work. The method of horizontal directional drilling and shield sinking is most often used for laying new networks. During the reconstruction, a technology is used in which a new pipe is stretched inside the existing one.
A strategy for the development of engineering and communal infrastructure until 2030 is being implemented in Moscow. The capital has the lowest depreciation of utility networks in Russia, and the reserve capacity ranges from 12% for electricity to 56% for water supply, Sobyanin previously reported.
